An open investigation
We wanted to offer an experience where players can feel free to make whatever they want, whenever they want. I was in charge of the scenario: I then construct it as an open investigation, where the clues can interact with others by different meanings, depending on how the players lead their investigation, and where the end can be different. The main difficulty was to verify each possibility to avoid story incoherences.
Constraints
We had two constraints for C'est pas du gâteau ! : the first one was the public: the game is intended for children. As a consequence, we had to create an interesting story and mechanics, enough complexe to keep our players' attention but enough simple to be understandable and easy to play.
The other constrain was the number of words allowed in the game: indeed, 3000 words was the maximum to put into.
